Winners

On view and for sale at Ivester Contemporary

In this series, I explore the evolving concept of success through sculptures and mixed media pieces resembling trophies. Traditionally, trophies symbolize victory, achievement, and the American Dream—accomplishments like career milestones, wealth accumulation, home ownership, and being the best. However, for many, including myself, these ideals have shifted.

Through personal growth and reflection, I’ve come to realize that the traditional markers of success no longer resonate as they once did. They feel disconnected from the realities of today’s world, where political and economic systems are no longer serving the needs of most. This disillusionment is shared by many in my generation and younger, who are redefining what it means to win, to thrive, and to achieve.

This collection redefines the "trophy" to symbolize unconventional victories. Each piece represents an untraditional "win"—whether it's overcoming personal challenges, embracing authenticity, or finding fulfillment outside of material or status-driven goals. Displayed on a shelf as objects of contemplation, these trophies invite viewers to reflect on their own evolving definitions of success and what it truly means to live a meaningful life.
